Hey all!
TJ, Wende & Eli here. Daughter of Terry & Carol for anyone confused. :-) What a whirlwind we've had these last 3 days. The cable TV show DIY To the Rescue just finished filming an episode at our house. The premise is a homeowner with some projects they need help to finish. Well, a film crew of about 12, 2 "stars", and about 6 local contractors have been swarming around replacing our front porch, removing concrete blocks from our foundation to create ventilation, patching broken concrete porch steps, fixing an ailing gate, and putting down a rubber floor in my painting studio. Wait. What I meant to say, is I did all that. :-) They showed me how to do everything, shot a little demo, then showed me doing the various tasks, and then doing more a little later in the progression until the whole thing was done. It was indeed a ton of work for 3 days and 90 degree temps... But what a cool experience. I was nervous, be it was ultimately great. And, of course, Eli was the star. We shot some footage of he and I painting together, of all 3 of use working on a single painting, of all 3 of us having a water balloon fight, and of all 3 of us talking about the experience at the end of it all. Hopefully, nobody looks too much like a dork. As far as I understand it, the episode is expected to run in October on DIY and possibly HGTV networks. When I know for sure, I will let you all know. Oh yeah --- plus, one of the camera men bought a painting! Cool. In the mean time, we hope all is good with the rest of the Pack.
